Parent Expectation
Parental support is an extremely important factor in your child’s musical training and there are several things you can do as a parent to help your child be successful.
- Motivate/help you child develop daily practice habits. It is recommended that for your child spends the same amount of time practicing each day as he/she spends in our lesson each week. (see Practice Tips) Children whose parents take an active and honest interest in their child’s progress tend to be more enthusiastic and productive.
- Provide needed materials. It is essential that your child has the following materials to be successful in our lessons: metronome, music, music binder, and a working instrument; as well as anything else provided by the teacher.
- Payment & Scheduling. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that your child makes it to lessons on time and that payment is received on time.
- If you ever have a question about your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to call/text/email me!
Student Expectations
It is expected that the student come to each lesson prepared to work and learn. It is expected that the student will:
- Spend scheduled time practicing the assignments every day. A small amount of practice on a daily basis will prove far more beneficial than extended practice once or twice a week
- Come to lessons with all needed materials and instrument in working order
Payments
Invoices will be emailed on the 1st of each month, and all payments will be auto-drafted from your credit card on file at the beginning of the month. When you receive your invoice, please review it carefully to ensure accuracy. It is your responsibility to confirm that all lesson dates align with your schedule. If a scheduled lesson conflicts with your availability, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule or to arrange a possible switch with another student.
By default, payments are processed via credit card. However, students may elect to make payments via cash or check upon request. A $20 late fee will be applied to any payments not received by the 15th of the month, and lessons will be suspended if payment is not made by the 20th.
Pricing
Fall and Spring Semester – Tuition for music lessons during the school year is $115 per month, which includes weekly lessons throughout the school year. Lessons will be held each week, with the exception of breaks during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Spring Break, and the last week of school.
The monthly tuition is a flat rate and remains the same regardless of how many lessons are scheduled in any given month and is based on the total number of lessons provided over the school year. Tuition will be automatically drafted from the credit card on file at the beginning of each month.
Summer lessons are offered with a flexible schedule to accommodate vacations, camps, and other activities. Lessons during the summer are 1 hour long and cost $55 per lesson. These longer sessions provide extra time to focus on practicing and reinforcing fundamental skills.
Students can sign up for lesson times on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cancellations must also be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the lesson. Any canceled lessons will be credited toward the following month’s invoice.
Summer lessons are invoiced at the beginning of each month based on the number of lessons scheduled. Please contact us if you have any questions or need assistance with scheduling.
By enrolling in lessons, you agree to this payment schedule and the associated terms. Please contact us with any questions or concerns regarding the policy.
Scholarships may be available to those who qualify.
Attendance / Cancellations / Tardiness
Your tuition payment reserves a set time on your teacher’s calendar each week, similar to paying for a college course. Lessons can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. If a lesson is canceled or rescheduled with advance notice, you will receive a “make-up credit” that can be used within the next 6 months. Make-up lessons can be scheduled online or by contacting your teacher. All cancellations must be submitted in writing (for record-keeping purposes) via text, email, or through the website.
If your scheduled lesson time conflicts with a school event or activity, it is the parent’s responsibility to reschedule the lesson, as we are rarely informed of these events. Please make arrangements in advance to avoid conflicts.
In the event of an excusable emergency on the day of a lesson—such as sudden illness or a family emergency—a make-up credit will still be issued. However, no refunds will be provided.
Refunds will only be given if the teacher is unable to reschedule a lesson, typically due to holidays or other conflicts, and will be credited toward your next invoice.
Please note that cancellations made without 24 hours’ notice or no-shows will not be eligible for a make-up credit and the lesson will be forfeited.

Discontinuing Lessons
If for whatever reason you would like to stop taking lessons at any point during the semester, written notice (text or email) must be given at least 21 days (3 weeks) before your final lesson (or a $60 termination fee will be assessed to your final invoice). Additionally, we reserve the right to terminate any student at any time. This can be due but not limited to:
- Inappropriate behavior toward me on the part of the student. This includes violent out-lashings, swearing, defamation of character, unacceptable advances or any other displays which fall outside the realm of common respect and decency.
- Inappropriate behavior toward me on the part of a student’s parent(s). This includes all of the above.
- Failure to pay monthly lessons fees.
