Jason has been in the Clear Lake area for over 15 years. He started his musical career at League City Intermediate playing Trombone and later switching to Tuba.
While attending Clear Creek High School Jason studied under Professor Mark Barton (U of H) and Mr. Bud Woodruff (DPHS).
After graduating he left the Clear Lake area to attend the University of North Texas where he studied under Tuba Professors Don Little, Ryan Robinson, and Brad Coker and Music Education Professors Dennis Fisher, Dr. Donna Emmanuel, and Darhyl Ramsey. He also preformed in UNT ensembles under the direction of Dr. Brian Bowman and Dr. Nick Williams.
While at UNT he became involved with Denton Bible Church, which is where he met his wife Candice. After graduating, life brought them back to the Clear Lake area where he and his wife currently reside. Along with teaching private music lessons, he also plays lead guitar for Clear Creek Community Church as well as several other local churches.
Education/Experience
Jason holds a bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of North Texas. While in school he taught Tuba and Euphonium lessons as well as low brass masterclasses for 3 years. After finishing his student teaching in Frisco he took a position teaching band classes for a small charter school in south Dallas. A year later he took a position teaching middle school band in east Houston where he taught beginner brass and percussion classes. Jason has been teaching music now for over 15 years.
